Barricaded Mixed Reality Terms of Service
These terms apply to Barricaded Mixed Reality ("Barricaded", "the game"), a mixed reality game for Meta Quest, and to this website. The game is made by Levi Herr, doing business as Night Shift Games, in Wisconsin, USA ("we", "us"). By installing, playing or using the game, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't play it.
You also get the game through the Meta Horizon Store, so Meta's own terms and policies apply to your Meta account, your purchase and the store. If anything here conflicts with Meta's terms for the store, Meta's terms win for those matters.
Play safely
Barricaded is a mixed reality game: you move around a real room while virtual zombies, barricades and weapons appear in it. Please read this before you play.
- Clear your space. Set up your headset's room scan and boundary, and play in an open area free of furniture, pets, people, stairs, sharp edges and anything you could trip over or hit. Keep the space clear while you play.
- Mind your surroundings. Virtual objects can look solid but aren't. Don't lean on, climb or walk into them, and don't swing your arms near walls, windows, lights or ceiling fans.
- Outdoor play. Only play outside in a safe, level, private space that you are allowed to use, away from roads, water, drops and other people.
- Co-op. When playing with others in the same space, give each other room to move and keep your play areas from overlapping.
- Health. Take regular breaks. Stop at once if you feel dizzy, sick, disoriented or tired, or have eye strain or discomfort. Some people can have seizures or blackouts triggered by flashing lights or patterns; if you or your family have a history of epilepsy or seizures, talk to a doctor before playing.
- Follow Meta's guidance. Read and follow the health and safety warnings that come with your Meta Quest headset.
You play at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety and your play space.
Who can play
Barricaded contains realistic violence, blood and frightening content and is not directed to children under 13. Players must meet the minimum age Meta requires for its accounts and devices. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
Your license to play
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and play the game on Meta Quest devices for your own non-commercial entertainment, as allowed by the Meta Horizon Store. You may not:
- copy, sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the game or any part of it;
- reverse engineer, decompile, modify or create derivative works from the game, except where the law allows it regardless of this restriction;
- cheat, exploit bugs, use hacks, tampered files or third-party tools to gain an unfair advantage, or interfere with leaderboards, scores or other players' games;
- use the game in a commercial venue (such as a VR arcade) without a separate written agreement with us.
The game, its code, art, characters, sounds, music, names and logos belong to Night Shift Games or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. Apart from the license above, no rights are given to you.
Leaderboards and fair play
Barricaded has online leaderboards run through Meta's platform, showing your Meta display name, scores and game stats to other players. Scores and stats that look tampered with or impossible may be removed, and we may reset leaderboards at any time. How we handle your information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Playing with others
Be respectful to the people you play with. Don't harass, threaten or endanger anyone, and don't use the game to break the law or Meta's rules.
Updates and changes
We may update the game to fix problems, change balance or content, or add or remove features. Some features, such as leaderboards or co-op, depend on services that may change, be unavailable at times, or be discontinued.
Purchases
The game and any future in-game purchases are sold through the Meta Horizon Store. Payments, refunds and billing are handled by Meta under its terms and refund policies.
Disclaimers
The game is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't promise the game will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for your space or health.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Night Shift Games will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any injury, property damage or loss arising from your use of the game or your play space. Our total liability for any claim relating to the game is limited to the amount you paid for the game. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Ending these terms
You can stop playing and uninstall the game at any time. If you break these terms, your license ends and you must stop using the game; we may also remove your leaderboard entries.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where the laws of your country of residence give you protections that can't be waived.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top. If you keep playing after a change, the updated terms apply.
